Dates: 7th – 13th July 2013
The first day will include driving around the local countryside to discuss how to choose suitable landscapes and take visual notes or photographs for inspiration. The course then continues with methods of using procion dyes and a variety of techniques to explore realism or abstract in landscape. Direct dyeing, painting with dyes and simple print techniques are covered in the course. Dyeing will also include fibres and other fabrics to embellish onto the prepared ground fabrics. How the final pieces can be approached with embroidery and the embellisher will also be covered. You will be able to start and perhaps finish one or two pieces. Materials for the course are included. Additional fabrics are available for purchase if you get really involved in your dyeing!
